Meet the Challengers
ABHINAV - Hometown: Mississauga, ON; Age: 13
Abhinav’s nickname is Triple B, “Brains Before Brawn.” And that’s how he thinks he’ll win this competition. At school, he’s in the environmental club, competes in math tournaments and acts in plays. He won an award for a speech about Canada he gave in front of the whole school. One day, Abhinav would like to be in the army to defend his country.
ANDREAS - Hometown: Torbay, NL; Age: 13
Andreas believes he’s the underdog who could win the entire competition, and wants to represent Newfoundland doing it. People tend to underestimate him and he wants to prove them wrong. He’s passionate about singing, solving puzzles and considers himself a natural leader. One of his proudest moments was winning second place in the Karate provincials. In the future, Andreas wants to be a journalist.
ANNA - Hometown: Mount Pearl, NL; Age: 14
A straight A student, Anna is independent, athletic and confident. She plays basketball, soccer and helps coach the basketball team at her old elementary school. Singing and acting are two of her favorite things and she loves performing in her school’s musical show. As for the future, Anna isn’t sure yet whether she’ll become an English teacher or open her own music school.
AMANDA - Hometown: Chapeau, QC; Age: 14
When it comes to personal style, Amanda likes to keep it unique and fresh. She’s also competitive, athletic and determined: She won a public speaking contest as the second youngest competitor. Drama, hip-hop dancing, volleyball and hockey keep her busy. In the future, Amanda wants to be an actress but her back up plan is to be a teacher so she can make learning fun.
ASHLEY - Hometown: Niagara Falls, ON; Age: 13
Ashley says people are often surprised to find out she loves camping, dissecting animals and letting bugs crawl on her. She’s calm, confident and makes friends easily. As lead singer of the glee club, she was able to show off her vocal talent. Ashley also dances, plays guitar, models and does gymnastics. She wants to be a musician or a scientist.
BRAD - Hometown: St. Hippolyte, QC; Age: 12
Brad wants to be the first boy to win In Real Life. He plans on achieving that through a combination of mental and physical skills since he’s good at both. He’s class president and loves reading books, but he loves sports too. He plays soccer, hockey and baseball, and won 2 MVP trophies in the same day. He’s also awesome on electric guitar. In the future, Brad would like to become a pro baseball player or a policeman.
CHASE - Hometown: Coronach, SK; Age: 13
Who’s that guy riding a donkey to the store in his hometown? It’s Chase! He has pet donkeys, horses and cats. He’s ridden his horse Pokey in rodeo competitions and he won a buckle for penning. In the summer, he practically lives at the outdoor swimming pool. His friends say he’s goofy, funny and an awesome guy. Someday he’d like to be an electrician.
EMAN - Hometown: Edmonton, AB; Age: 13
The two things that make Eman the happiest are dancing and modeling. Recently she walked the runway during Edmonton Fashion Week. She describes herself as optimistic and a risk taker. She likes living in the moment and taking on new challenges. An aspiring lawyer, Eman loves helping people and is passionate about human rights.
KELLY - Hometown: Elk Point, AB; Age: 13
Growing up, Kelly was perceived as the shy, innocent little girl who would snap like a twig if you hit her with a dodge ball. Now, she’s out to prove she can take whatever is thrown her way. Kelly is energetic, creative, reliable and a good mediator. She competes in math Olympics, manages a band and is the yearbook layout designer. Kelly’s dream is to become a fashion designer.
LOUIVANNAH - Hometown: Montreal, QC; Age: 14
An aspiring actress, Louivannah loves to make people laugh by making funny faces. She’s a gifted athlete too and won a speed skating award after only being in the sport for a year. Gymnastics, fashion and dancing are high on her favorites list. She says her competitive spirit and determination will give her the edge in the competition.
MACKENZIE - Hometown: Woodbridge, ON; Age: 12
Mackenzie’s sister Madison was a finalist in season 1. She’s Mackenzie’s hero and her best friend. Mackenzie is quirky, outspoken and emotional. Her passion is equestrian horseback riding. A creative thinker, she invented a language called Gleeism. She even taught it to her whole family. Mackenzie is an aspiring corporate lawyer.
MSGANA - Hometown: Edmonton, AB; Age: 13
In drama class, Msgana learned stage fighting, so she can fake a punch like a real stuntwoman. Msgana is also really good at gymnastics and soccer, and two of her favourite things are tumbling and cooking. She’s a good problem solver so maybe she’ll figure out how to do both things at the same time! In the future, she’d like to be a dentist.
SAM - Hometown: Edmonton, AB; Age:14
Sam’s friends think he’s funny, easy to be around, smart and weird in a cool way. He loves acting and he’s never at a loss for words, which serves him well on the school’s improv team. He thinks his brains and wits will compensate for his lack of physical strength. Just don’t put a spider near him because he’ll scream at the top of his lungs! One day, Sam wants to become an actor or a forensic scientist.
SYDNEY - Hometown: Nokomis, SK; Age: 13
Sydney has been dancing competitively and winning loads of awards in all kinds of styles from ballet to hip hop since age 4. Her friends say she’s kind, creative and tons of fun. In her small hometown, everyone knows each other and there are only 50 kids in her school. But she likes imagining how big the universe is and would love to become an astronaut.
TALSTON - Hometown: Kelowna, BC; Age: 12
Talston’s friends nicknamed him “Shortston” because he’s not exactly the tallest kid around. But he might be one of the most successful! At school he’s in the run, drama and chess clubs, and choir. He also manages to fit in horseback riding, hunting, volleyball, guitar lessons and he started a charity group. An aspiring actor, Talston is a straight A student who enjoys being the class clown.
TANNER - Hometown: Aylmer, ON; Age: 14
Tanner is usually the guy smiling and laughing everything off. Underneath that is a serious side and a fierce determination to succeed. He plays basketball, volleyball, curling and he won the Canadian National Horseshoe Championships. Tanner is part of a youth charity group and he’s coached kids in the Special Olympics. His dream is to be a marine biologist.
TED - Hometown: Lethbridge, AB; Age: 13
At school, Ted won the athletic award and a dance contest. So you might catch him busting a move at the finish line! He plays badminton, basketball, loves videogames, is in a drumming club and plays bass. In the future, Ted wants to be a director because he likes to inspire people, be a leader and he loves yelling “Action!"

Zach is on the cross-country, badminton, track and wrestling teams and is learning to be a lifeguard. He won the athlete of the year award and also does really well in school. Outgoing, organized and competitive, Zach always looks on the bright side of things. In the future, he’d like to be a dentist or a phys ed teacher.
